ANDY GREIG, CFA®, CMT®

Andy Greig, CFA®, CMT®, is a seasoned investment professional with more than 30 years of experience in portfolio management and advanced market strategy. He serves as Head of the Investment Committee at Financial Independence, LLC, where he leads the firm’s investment research, asset allocation decisions, portfolio construction, and risk management oversight. His leadership helps shape the strategic direction of all client investment models and ensures disciplined execution across the firm.

Andy brings deep institutional experience, including direct work in hedge funds, alternative investments, fund of funds structures, portfolio management, and family office affairs. His background provides a sophisticated understanding of both traditional and non traditional investment strategies, giving the firm a broader analytical edge when evaluating opportunities and managing risk.

He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Vermont in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, demonstrating early analytical rigor. He later earned his Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Michigan in 1992, further strengthening his foundation in capital markets and financial strategy.

Andy earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 1995 and also holds the Chartered Market Technician® designation, reflecting his combined expertise in fundamental and technical analysis. He is a member of the CFA Society of Detroit and the American Association of Individual Investors Eastern Michigan Chapter.

His specialties include quantitative analysis, technical analysis, and custom programming, allowing him to integrate data driven research with disciplined market interpretation. Andy’s depth of experience and analytical precision are central to the firm’s investment philosophy and long term performance focus.
