WILLIAM KUMM

William Kumm serves as Chief Operations Officer at Financial Independence, LLC and is an integral leader within the organization. Since joining the firm in May 2019, William has played a pivotal role in strengthening internal operations, enhancing client service processes, and overseeing the execution of the firm’s investment strategies. He also serves as Head of Trading for all client accounts, ensuring portfolios are implemented with precision, discipline, and efficiency.

William holds his Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, equipping him with the regulatory and technical expertise required to support both advisory and trading functions at a high level. He studied Finance and Economics at Western Michigan University, building a strong analytical foundation that supports his operational and investment responsibilities.

Prior to joining Financial Independence, William spent seven years at a broker dealer in San Diego, where he gained extensive experience in back office operations, compliance procedures, and trade execution. That experience has translated directly into his leadership at Financial Independence, where he has streamlined workflows, strengthened trading oversight, and elevated the client service experience.

William specializes in client service operations and portfolio implementation. His attention to detail, responsiveness, and commitment to accuracy ensure that client accounts are managed with consistency and care. As Chief Operations Officer and Head of Trading, he is a critical part of the firm’s success and a driving force behind the operational excellence clients rely on every day.
